TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

PS18CB-ION, 1,800 kg lithium counterbalanced ride-on electric stacker

The PS18CB-ION is a lithium-powered counterbalanced ride-on electric stacker designed to transport, lift and stack loads up to 1,800 kg. Its counterbalanced design has no support legs surrounding the load, allowing certain closed-bottom pallets to be picked directly from the floor when the geometry of a conventional straddle stacker is unsuitable. Six lift heights are available from 1,600 to 4,000 mm depending on the version. The folding platform, electric power steering and proportional lifting control support travel and load positioning operations in front of racking.

Handling closed-bottom pallets without support legs around the load

The counterbalanced configuration is one of the main features of the PS18CB-ION. The forks extend in front of the chassis without support legs surrounding the pallet. This configuration allows the truck to handle loads whose lower structure does not provide the clearance required for the support legs of a conventional stacker.

The PS18CB-ION can therefore be considered for storage operations involving closed-bottom pallets or load carriers with a base that must be picked directly from floor level. Its nominal capacity reaches 1,800 kg at a 500 mm load centre, subject to the selected lift height and the corresponding residual capacity.

Selecting a lift height from 1,600 to 4,000 mm

The PS18CB-ION range is available with six standard lift heights: 1,600, 2,500, 3,000, 3,200, 3,600 and 4,000 mm. The 1,600 mm version is fitted with a Simplex mast. Versions from 2,500 to 4,000 mm use a Duplex mast.

This range makes it possible to select the stacker according to the actual storage level required. The lowered mast height also varies depending on the version, from 1,850 to 2,600 mm for the Duplex models and 2,196 mm for the 1,600 mm Simplex version.

Available capacity must nevertheless be checked at the required working height. Up to 3,200 mm, the residual capacity tables indicate 1,800 kg at a 500 mm load centre and 1,500 kg at a 600 mm load centre. From 3,600 mm upwards, capacity decreases as lift height increases.

Positioning loads with proportional lift control

The HPI hydraulic unit is combined with proportional lifting and lowering control. This allows the operator to adjust fork movement when approaching a racking level or positioning a pallet.

The fork carriage also provides forward/rearward tilt of 1.5°/4°. The forks measure 40 x 120 x 1,070 mm and their outside width can be adjusted from 220 to 760 mm.

This configuration provides useful adjustment possibilities when the forks need to be positioned accurately beneath the load and controlled during placement.

Manoeuvring a 1,800 kg ride-on stacker in front of racking

The PS18CB-ION combines a folding operator platform with folding side protection arms and electric power steering. The platform is mounted on a suspension system. The Rema tiller groups the driving controls together and has an operating height of between 970 and 1,370 mm.

The stacker has an overall width of 1,090 mm, an overall length of 3,060 mm and a turning radius of 1,855 mm. For site planning, the specified aisle width is 3,360 mm with a 1,000 x 1,200 mm pallet handled crossways and 3,470 mm with an 800 x 1,200 mm pallet handled lengthways.

These dimensions can be compared directly with aisle widths, turning areas and the space available in front of racking before selecting the truck.

24 V lithium battery with two capacity options

The PS18CB-ION operates with a 24 V lithium battery available in 150 Ah or 200 Ah versions depending on the reference. Side extraction provides access to the battery without removing it from the top of the truck.

The electrical system includes a 2.6 kW AC traction motor and an electromagnetic service brake. Identified components include a Schabmüller motor, Kordel gearbox, Zapi controller, HPI hydraulic unit, Rema tiller and Rader Vogel wheels.

The display provides information including operating status, operating time, battery charge level and steering angle. A USB port is also fitted. Access control by PIN code or RFID card is available as an option.

Checking residual capacity according to lift height

The nominal 1,800 kg capacity does not apply automatically at every lift height. Residual capacities stated for the PS18CB-ION are as follows:
Lift heights 1,600, 2,500, 3,000 and 3,200 mm: 1,800 kg at a 500 mm load centre and 1,500 kg at 600 mm.
3,600 mm version: 1,800 kg at 500 mm and 1,500 kg at 600 mm up to 3,300 mm; 1,600 kg at 500 mm and 1,300 kg at 600 mm at 3,600 mm.
4,000 mm version: 1,800 kg at 500 mm and 1,500 kg at 600 mm at 3,300 mm; 1,600 kg at 500 mm and 1,300 kg at 600 mm at 3,600 mm; 1,400 kg at 500 mm and 1,100 kg at 600 mm at 4,000 mm.

Mast selection must therefore take account of the storage height, actual load weight and position of the load centre.
