Handling equipment with automatic levelling
During order picking, packing, palletising, assembly or workstation supply operations, the load height changes as products are added or removed. Automatic levelling automatically adjusts the working height, helping to reduce repeated manual adjustments and keeping the load more easily accessible throughout the operation.
Depending on the STOCKMAN equipment, this function is fitted as standard or available as an option. It is offered on various types of handling equipment, including high-lift pallet trucks, stackers, positioners and lifting tables. On some models, adjustment is controlled by an adjustable detection sensor. Within the STOCKMAN range of options, this system is specifically identified as “automatic levelling”.
A working height that adapts as the load changes
When boxes, parts or products are progressively removed or added, their height changes. Without an automatic system, the operator must regularly use the lifting or lowering controls to reposition the load.
On suitably equipped models, automatic levelling manages this adjustment. It therefore helps to reduce manual height corrections and repeated bending caused by changes in load height. This function is particularly useful for picking, order preparation, packing, inspection, assembly and palletising workstations.
Pallet trucks, stackers and lifting tables with automatic levelling
The function can be used for several handling configurations.
High-lift pallet trucks can move a pallet and then position it at a suitable working height. Models such as the JE5215NC and HEM1056NC feature automatic levelling as standard, while certain other ranges can be equipped with this function as an option.
Stackers and positioners combine load movement, lifting and height adjustment. The PSE12NMLINC, for example, features automatic levelling as standard across its different lift heights, while the compact EFT260 stacker automatically detects the position of the load.
Several electric and semi-electric lifting tables can also be configured with automatic levelling. Depending on the range, the required adjustment range must be specified when ordering.
How to choose equipment with automatic levelling
The choice should first be based on the operation to be carried out: moving a pallet, supplying a production workstation, order picking, packing goods or working at a fixed workstation.
The load capacity, required height, fork or platform dimensions, whether the equipment needs to be fixed or mobile, and the operating environment should then be checked. For damp or corrosive environments, certain galvanised or stainless-steel models can also be equipped with automatic levelling.
Finally, it is important to distinguish between equipment where this function is fitted as standard and equipment where it is an option to be specified when ordering.
